Every day, campers in each group get to try out an array of activities.
In Arts and Crafts, campers complete age-appropriate projects developing their artistic and creative skills. Some projects are Judaic in nature, and others are connected with our camp theme of the environment — thus utilizing recycled materials. Still other projects are just plain old fun!
In Music campers learn tried and true camp songs — in English and Hebrew — with a focus on developing their knowledge of Hebrew and Israeli folk songs. Older campers also take a turn at writing new lyrics to familiar tunes, and younger campers play with camp instruments like darbukot (drums) and tambourines.
In Drama, campers develop their improvisational skills, practice different movement techniques, and perform skits for the camp.
Sports Fitness goes beyond typical camp fare of basketball and soccer and incorporates physical fitness, guided by a personal trainer, with games that kids love. Obstacle courses, body weight exercises, and games all lead to kids not even realizing that they are exercising. Of course, counselors also organize basketball, soccer, dodgeball, and other games with their campers!
Limmud is where Ramah is Ramah. Our education specialist works with each group on Jewish values related to the camp theme and the weekly parsha. Hands on activities, discussions, and even technology come into play.
Israeli Dance – because what’s an Israeli camp without Rikudei Am? Campers learn a variety of dance movements and work with our specialist to learn dance choreography. At the end of each week, campers have a chance to show off what they have learned.
Swimming is an integral part of the camp day, and at the day camp we swim almost every day for an hour. The swim time is free swim, with instructional swim offered for weak and non-swimmers who are attending for at least three weeks of camp.
